Sudden grief and disturbance occupied me upon watching TV Patrol about the rice crisis in the Philippines. A 58 year-old man died of heatstroke for being exposed for about four hours or more. The man bought 6 kilos of NFA rice and since there are many people wanting to buy affordable rice, the line was very long. The man suffered stroke at home and was rushed to the nearest hospital. He was then diagnosed of death due to heatstroke. The outlet stopped distributing NFA rice as per TV Patrol.
It is very alarming and quite heartbreaking to learn that there are many Filipinos suffering because of this rice crisis. I hope that our government and other NGOs will find a better way for Filipinos to cope up with the disturbing issues nowadays.
All he wanted was to have rice to get by the day
He never expected his life to be taken away…
